A graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Media Arts and a minor in Music, Sieun has a deep background in lighting for live events, including music performances, corporate, and installations. She approaches each show with a methodical and thoughtful process, drawing on her experience to create visually captivating shows. Her talent for blending creativity with precision makes her an asset to the projects she undertakes.
John Ingram, Founding Partner of UVLD, reflects on his collaboration with Sieun: “Her sense of music, combined with her aptitude for lighting, makes working with her a joy.”
Sieun’s career is marked by a diverse range of experiences, from shaping the visual atmosphere of major corporate events like Google Next and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to contributing to unique installation projects like the 2022 studio remodel at KYTX CBS19. She has also been instrumental in immersive design experiences, including those for the innovative CAMP store locations. Her adaptability was further showcased during Chappell Roan’s Summer Tour 2024, where her work in live production environments earned her high praise.
Greg Cohen, President of UVLD, expressed his enthusiasm about Sieun joining the team. “We are excited to have Sieun onboard. She has a great attitude and a great eye for lighting design, and she’s going to fit in well with our ongoing shows, as well as things in the pipeline.”
Sieun’s expertise extends into the academic and live entertainment sectors, where she has provided lighting design for special events at Baylor University and Dallas Baptist University. She also played a key role in the “Dallas Christmas Spectacular” at First Baptist Church in Dallas and continues to support local churches with her talents.
Matt Webb, a fellow lighting designer at UVLD, was one of the first to work closely with Sieun and quickly recognized her talent. “I knew from our early time together that she was a natural, not only in the art of lighting but also in the process of executing the design. She has a great way with people, which is so important in what we do.”
Sieun’s lighting journey began with volunteer work at Prestonwood Baptist Church, where her passion for creating impactful visual experiences quickly earned her a full-time role as a lighting designer. This foundation allowed her to develop the skills and creative storytelling abilities that define her work today.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sieun enjoys immersing herself in nature, exploring art galleries, and discovering new culinary experiences in her free time. Her adventurous spirit constantly drives her to seek fresh perspectives and creative inspiration, which she brings to each of her lighting designs.
