09.24.18 Pluralsight 2018
UVLD’s David Rees was invited by Webb Production to provide lighting design in the second annual Pluralsight Live event in September 2018 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT. Pluralsight is a technology learning platform providing career learning from individuals all the way to enterprise level. This event, Pluralsight says, is “where leaders, technologists and visionaries collide.”
The three-day event featured speakers including Joel Spolsky, Heather Abbott and others; announcements about the launch of Pluralsight IQ, Iris, Pluralsight One and their new enterprise platform experience; and of course – parties.
“The client asked for design to transform the ornate room into a modern aesthetic,” Rees said. “Existing houselights and chandeliers were covered with custom scenic elements. We specified a range of LED fixtures to light the house. This gave us the flexibility to change the ambience when the room was transformed for the party and concert. The highlight of the show for me was the CEO Aaron Skongard’s keynote on day two, which highlighted the extensive philanthropic endeavors of the Pluralsight One foundation, which maintains commitment to drive social impact by improving equal access to technology skills. The keynote concluded with a fireside chat with Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Youfsazi.”
Nick Odencrantz acted as executive producer for the event for Webb Production. Michelle Morin served as electrician, and gear was provided by 4Wall Entertainment.
